The want for summer.

Well we took Voyager to be winterize, that symbolized the end of our camping season. I began to think of next year and all the adventures we will have. Mike and I will try new places to camp and explore. We welcome any suggestions or ideas.
There are a few things that I will do differently next year like make a better list so I do not forget anything. I will Relax more and take one day at a time.
Well as the days grow shorter and the cold slowly creeps up on us, I know that soon we will be back singing camps songs and roasting marshmallows.

Halloween

This was our first time Halloween camping. We had a ball I will definitely go again next year. My friend Beatrice invited us. She stated that she had a few decorations for her site. Well when we pulled up she had every inch of her camp site decorated. 😄  She had so much stuff  that she had no room for her boyfriend to park his car, so he had to park on our site.  We on the other hand had few decoration and I do mean a few.  Next year we will be better prepared. My nieces and nephews came to trick or treat with us. They got a lot of candy and enjoyed themselves.  The camp sites were impressive and everyone was nice. One site passed out Jell-O shots for the adults. Who said camping is just for the kids.

Final thoughts for the season.

As we return from a two week camping  Road Trip ( our idea of a road trip). I find myself getting sad,  because I live in Michigan and the end of the camping season is drawing near.
I am just not ready to step back into the modern day trappings of work and deadlines.
At the end of the two weeks I found myself closing my eyes more and breathing deeper my attempt to stop time. I wanted to capture every moment as if it was a post card.  I love loosing myself to nature, it has a profound effect on my spirit.
When I camp it is my hope that with each experience I will leave with a sense of peace, calmness and the stillness I need to deal with the day to day of life stresses.
I Love This Saying:
The mountains are my bones, the rivers my veins.
The forests are my thoughts, and the stars are my dreams.
The ocean is my heart it's pounding is my pulse.
The song of the earth write the music of my soul.

Well as the saying goes I Live to Camp another day.

The end of the Road Trip.

Well we are at Sleepy Hollow State Park. We will be staying here for a week. This is the last leg of the road trip.
The blog will contain the entire week of events.

Mike has to work so we decided to stay at a park close to his job.
Well for me I will take this time to rest, read and sleep.
We arrived around 3pm to a barking dog from our neighbor, he finally got used to us and stopped barking. I was relieved.
Our neighbor seems nice he told us his whole life story in about 20 minutes. He and his wife are staying the week also. This is their first vacation in 4 years. They have a cute pop up camper. I believe his wife is working like Mike, because I never see her doing the day and I hear her leaving in the morning.
Any way this camp site reminds me of Pontiac Lake because they both have the hidden sites. The only thing I do not like about this park is that 4 sites share the electrical box. It's in a central location, so you have a path leading from each site to the box. Some of the paths are wide leading from your spot. There is a wide opening between our spot and the neighbor spot because of the electrical box. We were able to back the camper back enough to hide the neighbors.
The park is empty now but it was full when the weekend came.
This site is electric only, I was able to make it the entire week. I was careful with my water use and took a shower twice at the campground shower.

I woke up one morning to a thumping sound when I went to see what it was it stopped. About one hour later it started again and I saw what it was. A small very green frog fell in between my windo and the rock guard and was stuck. I did free him he was so cute.

Later in the week we went to Eaton Rapids to the Urban Air. There were about 100 Airstreams lining the downtown and the side streets.  There was old campers and new, small and large Airstreams. We spoke to a lot of the owners and we were able to go inside them. I saw a camper with a slide out that was my first. I saw a Motor home airstream my first.  It had a very interesting decor. It had a fish theme with any and everything that delt with fishing glued all over the inside of that camper.
We stayed for the spaghetti dinner it was for charity.  Next year we will bring our camper.
That pay phone in the video works for local calls only. So if you or your child needs to call home you an and it free. I made a call.

One week left on the road trip.

Well we are back in Michigan staying at the Van Buren State Park in South Haven. We are only staying here one night.
This is a nice state park we have a large site. #115.
There are two other Airstreams here a older model and a Bambi. We spent a little time with the owners of the Bambi they are school teachers and they travel every summer in their camper. That will be us one day.
We went into town and spent some time at the beach. The weather was great.
While at the beach a tall ship came into the port.  It was beautiful.  I have a short video of it above.
Well as usual we got ice cream, it was huge.
Later in the day we went to the beach to watch the sun set off the water. It was a site.
I will definitely come back to this park. Well tomorrow we are headed to Sleepy Hollow State Park.
Well I hope you enjoy the video.

Road trip continues.

This is another video of our road trip. Sorry for the late post we were busy camping and just now able to post more video. This video contains a few pictures from the Camper Museum in Elkhart Indiana. We stayed at this private campground one night to be close to the museum. This campground was ok for one night, the campground was in a neighborhood.   I don't know about you but this was very different for me. It did have everything you needed a pool, game room, putt putt golf but I just could not get used to it being in a neighborhood. The Museum was small took about 1.5 hours to walk around. It was great seeing the vintage campers. They allow you to go into some of the trailers but not all of them. They have a nice gift store with quirky items. Well I hope you find the pictures interesting.
Well enjoy.
