New Year New Start????

Hello all,
How is it 2019 already? Last year went so fast.

I sat and thought about all our adventures and the things we did last year and wow what a year.
Even saying it out loud make me sad, because I do not want the years flying by. I don't want to be so busy that the days slide by. I love making memories but at times I think I need to slow my pace and spend time on what really matters.

Those that know the life event we encountered in February 14th 2018 may understand my need to work on being intentional in my life. To be honest I know it will be hard saying no to some and yes to others but each event for me must serve a purpose.

My resolutions this year is too, Camp more, watch more sunrises and sun sets, take more road trips, take longer walks, dream more, love harder and live louder.

Now how will you start this new year?
I Challenge your to do more and be better that you were in previous years.

Hocking Hills State Park

This past week we stayed at Hocking Hills State Park. This is a gem of a park.

Hocking Hills State Park is located in Logan Ohio.
What makes this park so great is all the areas to hike. There are 9 State Parks and Nature preserves, 3 State Forests, and a National Forest to hike in. You will not run out of places to hike.
There is Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Hemlock Bridge Trails and Whispering Cave, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve and so much more.

                                             The stacked rocks
                                              Karen and Mike
                                          Mike and Anthony

                                                    such beauty

This is our second time visiting this area. We love it here. Every time we come I discover something new and exciting to see.
                                              Karen and Anthony

The campsite has the usual full hook-ups, electric sites and tent only sites. Our site was generous that backed up to the woods. We had a full hook-up site, number 68. We haven't had a full hook-up site in quite some time. It felt so good not having to conserve water. I took a shower like I was at home. There is no beach but there is a nice pool on site.

My older sister Karen and her husband Anthony flew in from Georgia to camp with us. We had some great weather no rain just high humidity.
We only managed to hiked just 6 sites we just ran out of time.

Here are a few pictures of the hikes. I took way to many pictures.

Now to relax by our fire.

Wine tasting and camping.

Well a lot has happened since the last post. I have been so busy, too busy to post.
So this is a make up post.
We went on our annual adult camping trip. There was only 6 of us this time. (sadly our numbers are swindling). In spite of the small size we had a ball.

                                                           The gang

We arrived at Sleepy Hollow State Park on a Thursday and stayed until Sunday. Part of the group stayed in a cabin and we stayed in Voyager our camper.

The weather was 80-90 degrees the entire time we were there which was good and bad. The good we stayed at the beach on the kayak and we went fishing. The heat forced us to stay outdoors, because (the bad) the cabin does not have air. Leanette and I were the only two fishing. I caught two small fish that I threw back. Leanette caught 6 fish or so. Here is a picture of one of Leanette's catches. I don't know what happened to the picture of my jaws. LOL

I have a disclaimer Leanette had to take the fish off my hook and she threw them back, but I caught them. LOL

On Friday we went to wine tasting at Uncle Johns Cider Mill. The place give you 6 free tasting of wine and hard cider.  That was more than I needed. I tried a few and they were good I ended up purchasing three bottles of wine.

This place is very quaint. The staff was great and we ended up spending about two hour there. They have a great gift store on the property. I recommend going there. Inside of the gift store they sell baked goods, cider donuts, cider slush and all types of drinks.

For the kids there is a  bouncy ball to play on gemstone mining, pickle ball and much more. There is also a place to park your camper if you are towing it.
This was a nice break to add to our camping. This is how the adults do it.

                                                   I Love this restroom sign.

When we have the adult camping trips we always try to explore the area around the camp site.
After we left the winery we headed back to the camp site cooked some lunch, played games and enjoyed the fire.

Our beautiful sunset.

And with that, we wrap up our adult camping trip.
